Anna-Nathalia is the name of my grand-mother.
Nevertheless, her father didn’t want to register it. He then chose „Anne“. Her mother was really sad about this, that’s why she called her Anny.
A story often told, when I was a kid.
The first image of my work, is a black&white portrait taken by her husband around 1940, when she was about 20 years old.
The first photo I took of her was in 1998. With my Nikon FM2. It’s a black & white photograph of her drinking coffee after lunch.
This work is a collection of images, that I did while living under the same roof; when returning home weekends from my studies abroad; when stopping by with my kids and eventually when visiting her at the care home.
The last photo is one of my favorite photos of her, also taken by her husband, when she was about 25.
My beloved grand-mother died at the end of May 2021. She was a 100 years old.
